The Today N Tomorrow Society wishes to thank the Soroptimist International of Courtenay who very kindly purchased much needed items from our wish list for our infant and toddler and preschool facilities.

Soroptimist International of Courtenay have been long term supporters to the Today N Tomorrow Learning Society.  Their core purpose is to advance the status of women throughout the world through service, awareness, advocacy and action.

Nearly 1000,000 Soroptimists in 125 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community-based and international projects benefiting women and girls.  They are, through one project at a time helping to improve lives around the world.

We can’t wait to see the children’s faces when they see the plasma bikes, basketball hoop, capture the flag and the rocking horse that were purchased with the funds donated by Soroptimist International of Courtenay.

The Today ‘N’ Tomorrow Learning Society (TNTLS) is a small not for profit organization whose goal is to strengthen community one family at a time. The organization oversees three initiatives:  Today ’N’ Tomorrow Young Parent ProgramTeddies ‘N’ Toddlers Daycare Centre (birth-3 years) and Little Friends Early Learning Centre (3-5years).

Childcare is provided at two licensed facilities onsite at G.P. Vanier Secondary School; Teddies ‘N’ Toddlers Childcare Centre and Little Friends Early Learning Centre. The staff at both centers are qualified and experienced Early Childhood Educators and provide high quality, full or part-time childcare while parents are at school or work.

Our Young Parent Program provides support to young parents and pregnant students attending School District #71 by providing a dedicated coordinator to assist young parents to finish their education. Students attending G.P. Vanier Secondary School are enrolled in a Parenting Class each semester that covers parenting, child development, life skills, and more. Twice a week, the students participate in the Hot Lunch Program and cook lunch for themselves and children attending Teddies ’N’ Toddlers Child Care Centre. The class also hosts guest speakers and events such as swimming lessons and therapeutic riding.

Nearly 1000,000 Soroptimists in 125 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community-based and international projects benefiting women and girls.  They are, through one project at a time helping to improve lives around the world.

Thank You Sandra Beks

sandraOur childcare centre Teddies and Toddlers and Little Friends and the Young Parent Program are going to miss Sandra Beks our practicum student who joined us for January and February.

Sandra is studying Community Support at Discovery College and chose our centre to complete her practicum as part of her studies as she was part of our Young Parent program  in the past.

Sandra is passionate about community support work because she wants to be a part of helping people discover positive ways to better themselves and their families by accessing resources and supports.

Thanks so much for your energy, help and smile.  We really enjoyed having you here.
